The Powerful Delusion, A Great Lie

In the last days, before our Lord Jesus Christ comes, the Antichrist reigns over all men for three and one-half years. He will rule the world with iron hand. Uniting the world is a great challenge for him even with the power he possesses coming from the Devil. One of the overwhelming challenges that he should overcome is to unite the world that has a very diverse culture, race, language and most importantly-- religion. He is aware that a person with a strong faith in his or her god is difficult or impossible to change if he or she is bound to it unto death. For many Christians, the coming tribulation and the great persecution is already expected but everyone's physical survival should also be an accepted reality. Nothing will come good for those who oppose him.

"When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near" (Luke 21:20-21).
Time is coming when Jerusalem will be overthrown by the Antichrist. This is just the beginning of the desolation in order to fulfill the prophecies.

During one of my interviews on a radio show in the U.S., the host commented that the Antichrist should appear as a good leader, very strong charisma and appeals to all men. Well, that is right for he can not rule or unite the world if many are opposing him. In fact that is one of the strong delusions that attract support from the people. However, to those who know the Bible, they should not be misled by many trickery as the Antichrist will come very much like a wolf in sheep's clothing. To those who do not know his Bible, they are bound to be lost. During the days of Tribulation, it will be difficult to discern who is of Christ for there will be lots of confusion particularly among the borderline Christians. There will be false prophets, false teachers, and also false Christs. The time to learn is now so we will be prepared to face the trials and discern between the lies and the truth in the coming Great Tribulation. If a person lack the knowledge and wisdom of the truth then more than likely he is bound to be lost as the saying goes in Rev 22:10-11--

Then he told me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near. Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy."

During those days, people who seek survival more than true eternal life shall be condemned. The world will be in difficult economic hardship, famines, diseases and wars will be so common that it is very easy to forget God and instead, many will simply prioritize on material things. On the other hand, some will seek God for salvation. The faith of many will be tested and those who endured shall be saved. But to those who are vile and continue to do wrong will go to their destruction as Satan's deception will lead them farther from God.

The coming of the lawless one [Antichrist] will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness (2 Thess 2:9-12).

If we know the Bible, we will be able to watch out and expect the most powerful delusion by the Antichrist. What is this powerful delusion to watch out for? The passage above says, if those of little faith are misled by this delusion, it is always certain we become followers of the Antichrist. We need to know this-- this is very important for our true survival. Many Christians will also fall victim into believing the lie and we are not supposed to if we firmly believe the Truth. What is the big lie? Let us search the prophecies and find out about this lie so we will be aware in advance not fall prey into this deception. For those who know who the real Christ is, there is nothing to worry since the Antichrist, no matter how he camouflage in sheep's clothing, he can easily be known through his works of wickedness and through the prophecies.

Now let us find out about the big lie. Of course, the big lie is his future claim that he is the real Messiah. But how does he prove this? The way by which he proves himself will convince many that he is the real Messiah, the hope of nations.

Remember in the past lessons that the Antichrist will reign first not as Antichrist yet but as an "Assyrian king," a warrior, a mortal man who will conquer Europe. Read "The Antichrist" for details. Read also "The Confirmation of the Covenant" about why history should be repeated. The reason he is numbered "666" is because the 6th, the 7th, and the 8th king of the diverse beast of Revelation 17:10-11 is the same and one person ruling in three successions. First as Assyrian, then Babylonian then finally as a cruel Pharaoh ruling the U.S.A. and world. This is to repeat history wherein the fall of Israel, Judah and Egypt should follow the same sequence. First, King Shalmaneser of Assyria conquered the northern House of Israel (the Ten Lost tribes) then followed by the fall of the southern kingdom, the House of Judah by king Nebuchadnezzar of the kingdom of Babylon. The same king proceeded to conquer Egypt. We have learned in the past lessons that Europe is the 10 Lost Tribes of Israel, the same House of Israel that were vanished from their original homeland, Israel. We also learned that the Israel we know today is the same House of Judah with only the tribes of Judah and Benjamin remaining in that original Israel of old. Likewise the U.S.A. is the modern Egypt in our age. Read "The Real Roots of America" for understanding this knowledge.

The prophet Daniel wrote about the covenant confirmed for seven years:

... He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven’ (Dan 9:27).

This means the Old Covenant, the Old Testament events of the Bible will be repeated within seven years of Great Tribulation and the Lord's Day. The Antichrist's rule will replay Israel's history as written down in the Old Testament.

With that in mind, take note that the ancient king of Assyria, King Sennacherib had planned to attack the city of Jerusalem after taking over the other towns of Judah. He insulted the God of Judah and made mockery of their defenses. Through God’s intervention, his army was annihilated by an angel by night within their own encampment, and Jerusalem was spared. King Sennacherib eventually was killed by his sons. Read 2 Chronicles 32:16–21 and whole story from verse 1 to 22.

Sennacherib’s officers spoke further against the LORD God and against his servant Hezekiah. The king also wrote letters insulting the LORD, the God of Israel, and saying this against him: “Just as the gods of the peoples of the other lands did not rescue their people from my hand, so the god of Hezekiah will not rescue his people from my hand.” Then they called out in Hebrew to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to terrify them and make them afraid in order to capture the city. They spoke about the God of Jerusalem as they did about the gods of the other peoples of the world – the work of men’s hands.

King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz cried out in prayer to heaven about this. And the LORD sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the leaders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace. And when he went into the temple of his god, some of his sons cut him down with the sword.

The same scenario should happen to confirm the covenant. We may never know how it will happen this time, but surely, the army of the symbolic Assyrian king will be annihilated too by a divine power and the king will get killed upon his next attempt to conquer the heart of Israel after his conquest of Europe. Such a defeat and his death will be only temporary as prophesied. This temporary setback shall be his fatal wound since he will resurrect as a king possessed by Satan to become the Antichrist. Let us read again this prophecy in the Rev 17:9-11--

"This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for a little while. The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.

Now the question: who is “the other” to come?

This is the particular instant of the “one is, the other has not yet come,” Revelation 17:10, stated above when the Assyrian king had been “stopped by an angel” after he conquered Europe and was about to invade Israel and then USA.

The original Assyrian king actually died. Now you can see how the history repeats itself. The same kind of setback should befall the future symbolic king of Assyria when he attempts to attack Jerusalem. Read this prophecy in Revelation 17:8:

The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and will come up out of the Abyss and go to his destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because he once was, now is not, and yet will come.

Now that is the big LIE. The original Assyrian king did not resurrect to conquer Jerusalem but Nebuchadnezzar rose to power to finish the job. In the last days, the future "Assyrian King," the 6th king (who once was) will also die (now is not), then will resurrect to become the "King Nebuchadnezzar" (yet will  come) to conquer Jerusalem and the rest of Israel and eventually Egypt. By transforming from and Assyrian King to Babylonian King, the would-be Antichrist has earned his second "6." Once he sets his foot on U.S.A. (modern Egypt), he transforms into an Egyptian Pharaoh, thereby earning his third "6." Thus he completes his number: "666." Read chapters 5 and 6 of the book "The Omega Days" or the summary in the topic "The Antichrist" to learn more on the "666."

The “abyss” is another term for a “bottomless pit,” a symbol meaning grave or death. The grave or death is eternal darkness – which is why it is termed as “bottomless pit.” The word pit is used many times in the Bible meaning grave or death. Read Psalm 30:3.

O LORD, you brought me up from the grave; you spared me from going down into the pit.

After the resurrection of the fallen symbolic Assyrian king now becoming the Antichrist, he will immediately proceed to attack Jerusalem now armed with the power of the Devil. Israel will finally fall. At that point the king will assume the role of a Babylonian king since the Israel we now know is actually the Kingdom of Judah that fell in the hands of King Nebuchadnezzar.

That is how the world is deceived by the beast. By rising from the dead and continue to conquer Israel will earn the Antichrist the seal of approval and praise from many people. He was defeated by divine intervention upon his first attempt to destroy Israel but resurrected to become very powerful and finally destroy Israel and the rest of the world. Men think he is more powerful than God! But the only reason he was stopped by his first attempt is to fulfill the prophecies, to confirm the covenant that he should die first before gaining victory over Israel like what happened to the old counterpart, King Sennacherib. Read how the world began to worship the beast or Antichrist:

There are many verses referring to the fatal wound of one of the heads of the 7-headed beast. Obviously, the wounded head is the Antichrist. Rev 13:3, 12 prophesied of the fatal wound that healed. Verses Rev 17: 8, 11 refer to the same wounded head but clearly mentioned that the head died but resurrected. The process has to happened to complete the number "666" and to repeat Israel's history-- the Confirmation of the Covenant because King Sennacherib of Assyria also died after he attempted to attack Jerusalem. We have enough warning and information not to be surprised and misled by those coming events.

One of the heads of the beast (Antichrist) seemed to have had a fatal wound (death - now is not), but the fatal wound had been healed (resurrected). The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. Men worshiped the dragon (Satan) because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?" (Rev 13:3-4)

That is a very scary sight seeing the Antichrist tramples powerful nations without difficulty since he is now empowered by the Devil. No weapon can have any effect against him. Even the U.S.A. will not escape (Dan 11:42). Jerusalem will be destroyed leaving only few survivors. But always remember, all these have to happen only to confirm the covenant. Do not be misled.

Moreover, many think that the Antichrist's first attack against Israel will already be the Battle of Armageddon; however, please be warned, this is not yet the time for that final battle. The final battle between Jesus Christ and the Antichrist will happen only after the Great Exodus, and by then, the Antichrist will easily be defeated by Jesus Christ Himself. Read the "Battle of Armageddon" for the truth on the final battle. The Bible says, Jesus Christ will become the victor in the Battle of Armageddon but when the Antichrist trampled Jerusalem and all Israel immediately after his resurrection, the Antichrist will claim he had overruled the prophecy. He will claim he is more powerful than Jesus Christ. Therefore he "effectively thrashed" the authority of the Bible before many nations. He is telling many peoples, the Bible is a lie and he is proving that with another lie-- that he was initially defeated but rose again to defeat the City of God and therefore he will draw multitudes to him. He will imitate Christ's resurrection. Now he will say he is the real Messiah that brings hope. Now he is possessed by Satan. They begin to believe that there's no one who can defeat him anymore even by God as they cry out "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?" That's because they have wrongly believed that it was already the Battle of Armageddon. And they also believed the big lie by the Antichrist.

Here's the prophecy among many other prophecies on the coming attack against Jerusalem by the Antichrist preceding the Great Tribulation:

"When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near" (Luke 21:20-21).

The Antichrist will prosper in everything by lies but he will meet his end during the time of Armageddon.

He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior [to God]. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power (Dan 8:25).

Below is the power that will destroy him and the enemies, Gog and Magog, during the second time Jerusalem is attacked -- the true Battle of Armageddon.

On that day the LORD will shield those who live in Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the Angel of the LORD going before them. On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem (Zech 12:8–9).

I will turn you around and drag you along. I will bring you from the far north and send you against the mountains of Israel. Then I will strike your bow from your left hand and make your arrows drop from your right hand. On the mountains of Israel you will fall, you and all your troops and the nations with you. I will give you as food to all kinds of carrion birds and to the wild animals. You will fall in the open field, for I have spoken, declares the Sovereign LORD. I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in safety in the coastlands, and they will know that I am the LORD (Ezek 39:2-6).

There and then, there will be no more resurrection for the Antichrist. His defeat is complete and permanent. Jesus Christ is victorious. Everything happens only to fulfill the prophecies and to confirm the covenant. There is no power in the Antichrist. The Assyrian king will only be used as a rod of God's anger. God is still in control. Read below, God speaking,

"Woe to the Assyrian, the rod of my anger, in whose hand is the club of my wrath! I send him against a godless nation [Israel], I dispatch him against a people who anger me (Isa 10:5-6).

The last days Assyrian King will be allowed to do what he does to bring sufferings to the sinful people of God so that He will have compassion when they come back to Him. Read "Why Should Some Christians Suffer in the Great Tribulation?" to understand why God allows sufferings.

“In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the LORD your Redeemer (Isaiah 54:8).

Do not be misled by the lies of the Antichrist. There will be the strong delusion and deceit that can ultimately challenge one's faith in God. It is very important to know our Bibles and understand the prophecies in order not to be misled. Become a Christian, always pray and start studying the Bible since that time is coming fast.

In order for you to get saved and become a Christian please follow these simple steps.
