Who Are the Ten Horns of the Beast? - Part 2

The Divine Plan of God for mankind revolves around His plan for Israel, His chosen people. Many may oppose to the biblical fact that all nations have risen and fell and all will ultimately fall because of the God's plan for Israel and His elect. Note that most nations hated Israel today. It was Satan who put in the minds of many peoples from the very beginning to detest Israel. From the day that Lucifer fell, he has been the enemy of God's plan with nothing in mind but to destroy it. Israel has been relentlessly persecuted since it became a nation. Israel's history in the Old Testament has been marked by short 80 years of pinnacle of glory in the times of King David and King Solomon, his son. After them, it was marked by chaos, defeat, persecution, and humiliation for hundreds of years. There was only one reason: SIN. Even after their captivities to the empires of Assyria and then Babylon, they were persistently pursued. And Satan succeeded so that their race, language, religion banished from their generation. Satan was working hard to destroy their race through the successive occupation of other empires-- the Persian, Macedonian and the Roman empires as discussed previously. But here's the prophecy from Isaiah:

The LORD will have compassion on Jacob; once again he will choose Israel and will settle them in their own land. Aliens will join them and unite with the house of Jacob. Nations will take them and bring them to their own place. And the house of Israel will possess the nations as menservants and maidservants in the LORD's land. They will make captives of their captors and rule over their oppressors (Isa 14:1-2).

God is not only speaking of Judah, the Southern Kingdom or the House of Judah but also the whole of Israel. That will be the days after His Second Coming when God will finally fulfill His promise to Abraham and the patriarchs... to make make Israel a great nation forever. Not only that Israel will become a great nation forever but will also possess the nations and make captives of their captors and rule over their oppressors. That is a reversal of role from their long history of persecution and hatred by nations. Obviously, that fulfillment of the Great Promise did not come easy and swift.

Back to the question, 'who are the ten horns of the beast?,'. There are two steps by which we can identify them.

1. Know where the Ten Lost Tribes are

In the last lesson, we claimed that the Roman Empire is where the House of Israel lived unto this day. They were considered a landless nation - scattered and wandering aimlessly. Nobody knew where they were since they have lost their identity as the old nation of Israel. They were later known as the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel or the Lost Sheep of Israel. How sure are we that the Roman Empire was the adopted home of most of the Ten Lost Tribes? The Bible gave us a clue through the Apostle Paul's journey. He was the Apostle of the Gentiles and the House of Israel-- the Ten Lost Tribes. Notice the plan of God for Paul, emphasis mine --

But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man [Paul} is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel." (Acts 9:15).

The red dots are the itinerary stops of Apostle Paul during his three missionary journeys to reach out for the Lost Sheep of Israel.

It is clear that Paul had a special mission apart from the other apostles although Peter was also mentioned as an apostle to the Gentiles (Gal 2:8). Peter was martyred in Rome, the capital of the Roman Empire but his journeys were not recorded in detail as Paul's. At that point of Israel's history, the lost sheep were treated and known as Gentiles due to the centuries of living with the Gentiles. Yet, they remain as Israel in the eyes of God.

Look at the map above and notice that Paul made his way to the heart of the Roman Empire, Rome. He was even planning to go to as far as Spain (Rom 15:24, 28). Paul was specifically commissioned to spread the Gospel to the Gentiles, their kings, as well as the people of Israel. Paul’s missionary routes clearly imply to us that the lost tribes were living with and among the Gentiles of Europe. Or, the lost tribes have become Gentiles themselves due to generation after generation of co-habitation with the Gentiles. Paul journeyed to these lands not by his own decisions but by the command of the Holy Spirit. For example, read this account in Acts 16:6–7:

Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia. When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to.

So God was leading Paul to places where the lost tribes were located and to the people who will open their arms to God’s salvation. He was commissioned not only to the Gentiles chosen to become God’s children but also to the lost tribes of Israel as well. Paul according to tradition was was eventually beheaded in Rome for preaching Christ. It is understood, therefore, that those among these places were the lost tribes of Israel!

2. Know that history will repeat itself

Now the next step is for us to know that history will be repeated. Read Confirm the Covenant for details to save space.

Before the Second Coming, the world political boundaries will be removed (Isa 10:13), nations will fall and then there will be only one world government, The New World Order, headed by the Antichrist. That is a very big event of history that could not have been missed out in the prophecies. The fact that history will repeat itself, that event was surely prophesied to happen. Again that event revolved around the nation of Israel.

This is the sequence of how the nation of Israel fell:

  1. The House of Israel fell in the hands of Assyria (2 Kings 17: 5-6)

Assyria will arise again to fulfill the prophecies and it's old role of defeating the ten tribes of Israel, wherever they are. Assyria will be of the last days generation of the same people of that ancient Assyria. So when God repeats history, so it will be in like manner. However, notice that the modern Assyria will be destroyed not the same way it was in the ancient but by wasting disease and fire from God. Read Isaiah 10:5-19.

  1. The House of Judah fell in the hands of Nebuchadnezzar (Jer 39)

Like Assyria, Babylon will rise again and fulfill it's same old role defeating Judah and ransacking the Holy City of God, Jerusalem. Babylon, as prophesied shall come from the same Valley of Shinnar, the old ancient Babylon, now Iraq and Syria. In the last days that Kingdom will cover the whole world. But the end of Babylon will be like the end of Assyria above - destroyed by God's fire and great that downfall will be so that Bible wrote twice, "Babylon has fallen" (Isa 21:9, Rev 18:2).

  1. Egypt also fell after the fall of the House of Judah under King Nebuchadnezzar (2 Kings 24:7; Jer 46:13, 25-26; Ezek 29:19–20)

Egypt is also included since Egypt became Manasseh, the modern day Egypt, now the U.S.A. Read The Real Roots of America for details. Following the same order, this figure below shows how the world powers will fall.

The fall of the nation of Israel should follow the old pattern. The Ten Tribes first then the House of Judah followed by the fall of the U.S.A. The sign that this starts happening is the fall of the first three nations of Europe.

How was it possible for the coming Antichrist to accomplish his purpose? He will start his campaign as an ordinary man with global ambition. He will come from Iraq with virtually no military power to begin with.

Out of one of them came another horn, which started small but grew in power to the south and to the east and toward the Beautiful Land (Dan 8:9).

According to this verse, the would-be Antichrist "started small but grew in power" which describes the initial state of Iraq as we can now see. Think of what the coming imperialist leader will do once they recover from years of wars. Iraq will surely recover with just enough power to defeat the three horns in Europe and then there will be no stopping him from there to conquer the rest of the world.

Going back to the ten horns, Daniel wrote,

The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings. He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws (Dan 7:24).

Remember the confirmation of the covenant or repetition of biblical history. The House of Israel should fall first. The present world system will end with the fall of the nation of Israel. Now isn’t it that there are ten (lost) tribes in the House of Israel, the upper kingdom of the divided Kingdom of Israel? There are actually eleven, counting the half–tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh as separate kingdoms, but these two tribes are counted as one (Num 34:14, Deut 29:8, Josh 1:12). At the time of the end, Manasseh or Egypt (eagle) shall be “torn off” from the lion (Israel) and shall be counted as an entirely separate kingdom. USA and EU will part ways and together they will turn against Israel (Isa 9:21).

The seat of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France is shaped like the unfinished Tower of Babel. The EU strongly supports a unified world government. Soon that vision will become a reality.

Three of the members nations of the European Union will fall in the hands of the symbolic “Assyrian king” from Nineveh, now Mosul which is in Iraq, about 120 kilometres north of Baghdad. This ruler or “little horn” belongs to the line of the “King of the North” from the land of old Babylon. But three of the EU nations should fall. They are Italy, France and Great Britain. After their fall, all of Europe will collapse. Then they will put their support to the "Assyrian" invader, the coming Antichrist. They will make it easier for the "Assyrian" to defeat the world. Read What Is Happening to Europe? for details. Read also The Powerful Delusion, A Great Lie to follow the symbolic Assyrian king's campaign after defeating Europe.

Next the "Assyrian" invader will conquer Israel where he will meet his defeat and death, thus, the "fatal wound" of the beast. He will later resurrect and possessed by Satan, the old enemy, now the Antichrist, to conquer the rest of the world.

Finally, the Antichrist will set foot on the USA to become the Pharaoh. He will reward the ten kings (ten horns) who helped him defeat the world.

He will attack the mightiest fortresses with the help of a foreign god and will greatly honor those who acknowledge him. He will make them rulers over many people and will distribute the land at a price [in some manuscripts, for a reward] (Dan 11:39).

In the Book of Revelation, the ten horns will be allowed to rule only for a brief period. After that Jesus Christ will come.

"The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast" (Rev 17:12-13).

The one hour is equivalent to short fifteen days following the day-for-a-year principle in prophetic time. Since the Antichrist will be ruling the whole world, he will subdivide it into more ten more manageable regions, each ruled by a horn or a king from the ten nations of Europe. It will result to the bloodiest purge or we may call it genocide in all history combined that unless "those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened" (Matt 24:22).

The world as divided into ten cultural regions today. The coming New World Order will also have ten regions which will be ruled briefly by ten governors from Europe excluding the USA, which shall be ruled directly by the Antichrist (Isaiah 19:4) and the island of Greenland, the chosen’s place of refuge. The Antichrist will pitch his tent in New York City. The governors and regions are the the ten toes in Daniel 2 and ten horns of the fourth beast of Daniel 7.

Now picture this kingdom as the fourth beast of Dan 7:7. This kingdom started as a one-headed beast (Roman Empire) to become the seven-headed beast of Rev 13:1-2 as all the rest of the world (or the other three beasts) will be combined together into a one world government (one big beast). The ten kings ruling with the Antichrist are the ten horns who have helped him topple the world and they will be rewarded to rule with him. This beast is also the feet and toes of Daniel 2 which is made of iron and clay.

Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay (Dan 2:41-43).

The iron part is the nation of Israel, the lost sheep, the old Roman Empire and is now the EU. and the clay is the rest of the world. When the Lord Jesus Christ comes again, He will smash this world kingdom into pieces. It will disappear forever and will become God's Kingdom. The first passage was the dream and the second one is the interpretation of Daniel.

"While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were broken to pieces at the same time and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth" (Dan 2:34-35).

"In the time of those kings [ten horns], the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands — a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces" (Dan 2:44-45).

Now that we know about the future chain of events, it is easier for us to understand the signs of our times. We are now feeling the initial birth pains as the USA and Europe are reeling with economic and political troubles. The Arab Spring seem to be a welcome news to the world but it is just the transition towards bigger dilemma. The Bible prophesied that the seeming victories for the West will be actually defeats. Read the Bible and check the history of Israel, both the north and south kingdoms, prior to their downfall. That is clearly happening again.

Keep praying to escape the troubles ahead.
